DragonBoat Beaufort is a non-profit organization with a dedicated all-volunteer staff aiding cancer patients living, working or receiving treatment in Beaufort County, South Carolina.

The documentary film “Awaken the Dragon” served as the inspiration for the founding of DragonBoat Beaufort in 2012. The first practice was held in Waterfront Park sitting on chairs using brooms for paddles. Thanks to the dedication and commitment of people with a shared passion and vision, Dragon Boat racing has grown and flourished in the Lowcountry.

DragonBoat Beaufort’s Outreach Programs assist cancer patients in Beaufort County through one-on-one grants for items not usually covered by traditional means. Compassionate Care for non-financial and unique needs such as transportation, running errands, letter writing and more are also provided.
